What can I do about it?
Our goal is to raise $300,000 to set up the first research institute dedicated solely to the discovery, development, and clinical application of anti-roundworm drugs that target human parasites. All drugs currently used to treat roundworm diseases in humans today were initially discovered, developed, and optimized against veterinary parasites that are distinct from those that attack humans. Whereas the pharmaceutical industry has been generous in making veterinary drugs available for human use, WORMFREE World believes that the hundreds of millions of infected children deserve better drugs specifically developed to target the parasites that infect them. With your support, we can make a difference.
With your donation, we will set up our research institute and begin screening drug candidates against roundworms that either are human parasites or are closely related to human parasites. This seed money will allow us to hire two full-time researchers as well as establish a foundation from which we can secure larger grants.
In joining us, you will become an integral part of our founding, unique efforts to rid hundreds of millions of children and pregnant women of the disabilating effects of these dangerous, poverty-promoting parasites.
